Meet Julie

My Bio:

My name is Julie, and I'm a south Jersey birth doula. I’m a mom of 2 beautiful daughters.  My very own first labor was “in the top 3 of the worst deliveries I’ve ever seen” as were my midwife’s words. Months after that delivery I knew that there had to be something that I could have done differently. So I went searching and found out what a doula was.  I knew that if I were to have another baby, I definitely wanted to have a doula.  But in the meantime, all my reading up on the doula world, I became passionate about the support that doulas offer and decided to become certified myself!

Game Changer!!!

I was in love… I knew that this was my purpose in life the minute I stepped into the first class.

Fast forward to my first few labor jobs as a doula, and now I wanted every single pregnant person to know exactly what a doula can offer.  Because it’s a game changer!

Imagine running a 10k race and looking back at the end of the race, you say to yourself with tears down your face, I would have never reached the finish line without “insert name here” cheering me on and telling me that I’m strong enough to do this.  THAT is a doula!

Of course we are cheerleaders, but we are so much more. We come to the table with knowledge of pregnancy, labor & birth. We come with tools to help support, comfort & acknowledge the laboring mom. And I personally come to the table with a background of two very different labors of my own. One where I was under-educated, scared, pressured and scarred. And one beautifully thought out, prepared for, educated and in charge of that just felt right. 

My Doula Style

My approach to birth is hands-on, intuitive, and deeply collaborative. I work alongside your care providers as part of your team, supporting your birth preferences while respecting the medical space.

This is your birth—not mine. I support your choices and your plan for comfort and pain management, whether that includes natural coping techniques, medical pain relief, or a combination of both. My role is to help you feel informed, supported, and confident in the decisions that are right for you.

I believe partners are essential to the birth experience—not replaced. I actively engage your partner, helping them feel confident, capable, and truly involved. I offer guidance and suggestions so they know how to support you in meaningful ways, while also making sure they’re eating, resting, and taking care of themselves when needed.

Every birth space is different, and I take my cues from the room. Sometimes that means creating a calm, quiet presence. Other times it means offering gentle encouragement, reassurance, or a little pep when things feel overwhelming. I meet you where you are and respond to what you need in the moment—physically, emotionally, and energetically.

I'm located in South Jersey, but I service the tri state area of South Jersey, Philadelphia and parts of Delaware.
